In tonight's fight, Oscar Rivas knocked out Bryant Jennings in the 12th round on the ESPN+ main event Friday evening at Turning Stone Resort and Casino in Verona, New York.
The fight started off slow with Jennings dictating the pace as Rivas followed him but by the end of round 7 Rivas landed the better of the exchanges with more power.
Rivas landed a barrage of punches that left Jennings pinned in the corner and was dropped. He barely beat the count and the fight was waived off. Before the KO Rivas was ahead on 2 scorecards. Rivas was 106-103 and 105-104—heading into the 12th and final round while Jennings had a 106-103 lead on the 3rd scorecard.
Before this fight Jennings had enjoyed 5 straight wins after his losses to Wladimir Klitschko and Luis Ortiz while fighting under Top Rank.
Jennings said, “Of course I’m disappointed. But it is what it is. I’m my own man, this here is a stepping stone for me. I’m not really phased by any of this. It just is what it is.”
The official time was 0:54 of the 12th and final round.
